Successful Content Creation Strategies

Blogging 101

This article was originally published in our exclusive Sly Fox email newsletter.

Your business should keep up with a blog on your website for a plethora of reasons.

Blogging helps to:

  • Maintain and improve your SEO
  • Establish your authority as a thought leader in your industry
  • Support your social media efforts
  • Drive traffic to your website
  • Attract and retain your target audience
  • Generate leads (especially when strong CTAs are included!)

While writing engaging content for humans is key to blogging success, your posts should also be created with SEO at top-of-mind.

Here are three simple SEO tips from Google to help you improve your search engine rankings:

  1. Add keywords to your posts
  2. Add headers
  3. Make your images searchable

Speaking of Blogging…

Buffer shares the scoop on zero-click content, but we’ll give you the TL;DR. Zero-click content provides valuable information directly to users, eliminating their need to navigate away from the platform.

For example: say you post a new blog to your website. Rather than sharing a standard “Just posted a new blog — click to read!” social media post, a zero-click post presents a truncated version of the blog post without a link to the original. This approach aims to provide immediate value to your audience.

However, at Top Fox, we don’t fully agree with this strategy — for a few reasons. While we certainly agree with providing value in your social media posts, they should always link back to your website (with a few exceptions). That way, you’re delivering valuable content, enhancing your website’s SEO, and attracting potential leads to your website.
