New AI Features from Google

New AI Features

Google’s Search Generative Experience (SGE) is testing new AI-powered features. Users can now create unique images through text prompts and generate written drafts of content.

Google says, “For example, perhaps you’re looking into home improvement projects, like how to convert your garage into a home office. After finding helpful ideas across the web and contractors you’d like to get in touch with, you can ask SGE to ‘Write a note to a contractor asking for a quote to turn my garage into a home office.’ From there, it’s easy to export your draft to Google Docs or Gmail when you’re ready to add that personal touch.”

Something tells us college students will be using this feature for more than drafting emails…

Demand Gen is Here

Google has taken note of shifting consumer behavior and has launched Demand Gen to keep up with the evolving digital landscape.

Demand Gen offers a variety of formats to help brands craft their stories, including short-form videos and carousels. Google claims that campaigns can see up to three times higher click-through rates, at a 61% lower cost per action.

Cookie Crackdown

Google reminded everyone in its “Cookie Crackdown series” to start preparing for the end of third-party cookies. According to Google, “Chrome plans to disable third-party cookies for 1% of users from Q1 2024 to facilitate testing, and then ramp up to 100% of users from Q3 2024.”

If you’re not already collecting first-party data on your website, now is the time to start.
